PUBLIC CONTESTS
2026 PALM Photo Contest
The PALM Festival invites fly fishing enthusiasts, river lovers, and wilderness enthusiasts to participate in its 2026 photo contest. Whether you've captured a sunrise by the water, a memorable catch, a fishing canoe trip, or a moment of contemplation, this contest is an invitation to tell the story of fly fishing through images.
A selection of photos will be chosen from among all the entries. The finalist photos will be presented to the public during the PALM Festival. Voting will take place on site, and each spectator will be able to vote for their favorite photo. The photo with the most votes will be declared the winner at the Grand Finale in Quebec City on March 20.
The photographer whose image receives the most votes will win the grand prize: a $200 gift card from Hooké and a YET "Everyday Carry" Backpack, valued at over $550.
Selection and eligibility criteria
To be eligible, submitted photos must meet the following criteria:
Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration. Photos must have been taken by the person submitting them, and the copyright must belong entirely to that person. Images must be related to fishing, rivers, and the outdoors.
Photos featuring fish must demonstrate responsible and respectful handling of the animal at all times. Images showing poor handling practices that could compromise the health or survival of the fish will be automatically disqualified. For more details, visit the Saumon Québec page on best practices for catch and release.
Photos must be submitted in a format and resolution sufficient for printing and display, and must have a ratio of 2:3 or 3:2. The PALM Festival team reserves the right to crop any image that does not meet these dimensions. Photos must not contain any content that is hateful, defamatory, violent, discriminatory, or contrary to the values of the PALM Festival.
A selection committee will make an initial selection from among all the photos received. The number of photos selected may be adjusted according to the quality and diversity of the submissions.
Submissions for the photo contest are now closed.
