PUBLIC CONTESTS
2027 PALM Photo Contest
The PALM Festival invites fly-fishing, river and wilderness enthusiasts to take part in its photo contest. Whether you have captured a sunrise by the water, a memorable catch, a day on the river or a moment of quiet contemplation, this contest is an invitation to tell the story of fly fishing through images.
A selection of photographs will be made from all submissions. The finalist photographs will be presented to the public during the PALM Festival. Voting will take place on site, giving each visitor the opportunity to vote for their favourite photograph. The photograph receiving the most votes will be declared the winner during the Grand Finale.
Selection and eligibility criteria
To be eligible, submitted photographs must meet the following criteria:
Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration. Photographs must have been taken by the person submitting them, and the submitter must hold all copyrights to the images. Photographs must be related to fly fishing, rivers and the outdoors.
Photographs featuring fish must demonstrate responsible and respectful handling of the animal at all times. Images showing improper handling practices that could compromise the health or survival of the fish will be automatically disqualified.

Photographs must be submitted in a format and resolution suitable for printing and exhibition, and must have a 2:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio. The PALM Festival team reserves the right to crop any image that does not match these dimensions. Photographs must not contain hateful, defamatory, violent or discriminatory content, or any content that is contrary to the values of the PALM Festival.
A selection committee will make an initial selection from all photographs submitted. The number of photographs selected may be adjusted based on the quality and diversity of the submissions.
Submissions for the photo contest are closed and will open back up in January 2027 .

The PALM Festival invites fly-fishing, river and wilderness enthusiasts to take part in its Reel contest. Whether you have captured a memorable catch, a day on the river, a striking landscape or a moment that reflects your passion for fly fishing, this contest is an invitation to tell your story through video.
Let your creativity take the lead and share your favourite fly-fishing moment with us in Reel format.
A selection of Reels will be made from all submissions by the PALM Festival organizing committee. The selected Reels will be presented as part of the PALM 2027 program.
Selection and eligibility criteria

Videos must be filmed in a vertical 9:16 format, in full-screen orientation, and must be less than one minute long. Image and sound quality must be sufficient for the video to be presented as part of the PALM Festival.
Videos must not contain hateful, defamatory, violent or discriminatory content, or any content that is contrary to the values of the PALM Festival.
A selection committee will review the Reels submitted and make a selection from among all eligible entries. The number of Reels selected may be adjusted based on the quality and diversity of the submissions.
Submissions for the Reel contest will open in February 2027.
